MA Elected Officials Stand with Us!

Mental Health Professionals are a Valuable Part of BMC Brockton

Those of us who work at BBHC know how unique our services are, and we want to keep our jobs for years to come. But as non-union workers, our jobs are not as secure as we would like. Management has the power to decide our salaries and benefits. When we join other BMC union members and form our union with 1199SEIU, we can use our collective voice to make improvements so BBHC can continue to be successful in delivering quality care.

BBHC provides vital behavioral health care, but we need professional wages, job protections, secure benefits, and respect in the workplace to be able to recruit and retain dedicated and qualified staff. We believe joining our BMC colleagues in 1199SEIU is our best opportunity to improve our working conditions and improve the quality of care we provide.

Our Patients Are Counting On Us

1199SEIU BMC members say, “Join us so we can make BMC a better place for everyone!”

  • Jeanie Oliver, Chapter Co-chair and Financial Assistant

“The strength of our union forces our employer to respect us, protect us and pay us. I am excited to welcome Brockton Behavioral Health workers into 1199. We have your back! Unions for all!”

  • Kerry LaBarbera, 1199SEIU Chapter Co-chair and ER Nurse

“1199 BMC nurses fought hard for our new contract, and we are proud of what we won together, including wage increases, improved safety language, and exciting new work/life balance additions. Join us so we can make BMC a better place for everyone!"
